2022 WELCOME MESSAGE FROM ECAM PRESIDENT ANNE CHAVULA

On behalf of the Employers’ Consultative Association of Malawi-ECAM Board of Trustees, Executive Council, Management, and Staff, I welcome all members, partners, and all stakeholders in the year 2022.  I believe this is a year full of opportunities, a year that will see ECAM driving its mandate to the fullest.

This year we will implement more activities based on our Post-Covid Business Agenda that has six priority areas as follows: Strengthening Social Dialogue; Labour Law Reform, Skills Development and Youth Employment; Increased and Improved Infrastructure, Gender and Sexual Harassment; and Improved Environment for Doing Business. Henceforth, we plan to have meaningful strategic partnerships that will see ECAM members providing various services and positively impacting our economy as a whole.

Our CEOs Forum will also be conducted this year. This is where crucial labour and

business issues that affect employers are discussed at a higher level in the presence of key stakeholders and policyholders. This year we will engage more prominent people in the industry to create a more conducive business environment and foster Decent Work.

We have numerous activities including ongoing projects, events/conferences (free and paid-for), and in-house tailor-made training for members at discounted rates. Our regular meetings/workshops on a wide range of topics will continue although events participation will be more limited due to the pandemic.

I am confident that members will benefit from the activities of ECAM in 2022. I cordially invite members and all employers to get involved in our events and activities—both online and physical. For non-members, join ECAM membership and be part of the winning team. Stay connected with ECAM by following on Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Website.

We look forward to continuing serving and safeguarding the best interests of employers in 2022 as we work tirelessly to provide services and venture into new strategic partnerships for the benefit of members.

Sincerely,

Anne Chavula

ECAM President
